Phillip J. Neuman, Received favorable court decision in District court case

couzens-lansky_neumanPhillip J. Neuman, a shareholder of the firm, representing First American Title Insurance Company, recently won a decision in Geo Finance, LLC v. University Square 2751, LLC, a case brought in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. The case involved the issue of whether a title insurer was obligated to provide a defense to a claim by the owner of a geothermal water supply system against the insured owner of the property where the system was installed. The District Court ruled that the title insurer was not obligated to provide coverage for the claim. The Court’s decision was featured on the front page of the February, 2015 edition of The Title Insurance Law Newsletter, published by the American Land Title Association. Mr. Neuman concentrates his practice on real estate litigation, including quiet title actions, mortgage priority disputes, real estate fraud and landlord-tenant matters.
