As a result of the pandemic and ensuing unemployment crisis, the UIA has made it easier for employers to participate in the State’s Work Share program. The Work Share program permits employers to reduce a group of employee’s hours and/or wages, without having to furlough or lay employees off. In addition to wages, employees receive a portion of unemployment benefits, creating a potential win/win situation for employers and employees.
