Update on Employer Requirements When Workers are Affected by COVID-19

On August 7, 2020, Governor Whitmer issued Executive Order 2020-166: “Protecting workers who stay home, stay safe when they or their close contacts are sick”. This Executive Order updates and extends the requirements upon employers to permit employees to miss work for COVID-19-related reasons. In addition, it updates the principal symptoms of COVID-19.
