The Michigan legislature recently passed a handful of new laws related to COVID-19 that affect businesses and employers. These laws have the effect of limiting a business’s liability in the event a customer or employee is exposed to COVID-19. A third law prohibits employers from taking negative employment action against employees when an employee tests positive for or is experiencing the principal symptoms of COVID-19.
