Mark S. Frankel, a shareholder at Couzens Lansky, recently helped establish the Warrior’s Trust Fund. Mr. Frankel’s wife, Oakland County Circuit Court Chief Judge Nanci Grant, established a combat veterans’ court to address the needs of combat veterans who had become embroiled in criminal matters in her court. Judge Grant and her probation liaison realized that the combat veterans were finding it difficult to complete probation because of a lack of resources related to traumatic experiences they suffered in combat. The Warrior’s Trust Fund is a non-profit which raises funds to assist the combat veterans so that they can successfully complete their probation and exit the merry-go-round of recidivism. The Fund provides assistance to the combat vets by helping them with transportation costs, drug and alcohol testing costs and other related needs to help them complete their probation successfully. Mr. Frankel’s main practice areas include litigation and dispute resolution, business and corporate, real estate and trusts and estates.
